I get it. When it was just me and my kids (this is a second marriage) at one point we had 4 dogs, 3 birds, 2 Guinea pigs, 2 frogs and about 150 fish...living in a small house in a subdivision. Growing up, I always had dogs, cats, horses, and various pet rodents. I have one small dog right now and it feels very unnatural to me. He, on the other hand, pretends he doesn't want any animals but yet the dog has his heart. I know if I can catch in in the right moment he is going to give in. I want to be ready to move swiftly when he does! LOL

Welcome to BYC! I’m kinda new myself! Coming here to learn about chickens was the best decision I’ve made! A lot of knowledgeable people not only with chickens but other poultry and animals. Not to mention everyone is very nice and sweet. Have fun and enjoy yourself, once you get your chickens they are going to bring so much joy! I just know your husband will come around! Good luck!

Thank you! He seems to be breaking down...I just need to keep bringing it up with all the good reasons I have for wanting them, and keep reassuring him that he won't need to care for them. I think that is the biggest sticking point, he doesn't want to be bothered. I get it, he works hard and doesn't want to sacrifice his off hours. I just need to convince him I have a good plan of care for them.
