Hello,
I'm a human that adores dinosaurs....., I mean chickens! I am in search of chicken breeders in Oregon to start my new flock (not interested in hatchery stock). Below is a list of things about me and my interest in this wonderful forum & its members.
1) I am moderately experienced with chickens but, there's always more to learn
2) I am finishing out a coop in my brand-new-to-me home in Central Oregon
3) Breeds I'm interested in:
-Purebred Ameraucana
-Welsummer
-Black Copper Maran
-Silverudd's Blue/Isbar
-Izegem Cuckoo
-Dominique
-Erminette
-Barnevelder
-Not a breed but....Speckled Olive Egger
-Auto-sexing breeds
....to name a few
4) I love chickens for their company and eggs......and meat.....but, mostly I love taking care of livestock and chickens are the only ones I can accommodate in my new home.
5) I grew up showing horses and gardening, surrounded by a variety of animals.....as an adult I have farmed, landscaped, gardened, traveled and "art schooled"
6) Animal mom to 1 white shepherd and a cranky old Siamese mix, partner to a kind, gentle firefighting human
7) I found BYC researching cross-billed treatments when helping my previous landlord's son with his large flock.
