Hello to all, have been reading and using the BYC site for a long time. Finally decided to join, don't know why I haven't a long time ago. I raise mostly Rhode Island Reds (a self concocted variety) they have been years in the making. They are deep mahogany red hens with bright red roosters. I have just started Marans from a Bev Davis line that I just purchased. I have 1 rooster, 1 black copper hen, 1 blue hen and 1 black hen with no copper. I am going to try to get all black copper eventually but I understand blue hens are prevalent in the Bev Davis line. I also have 3 of the new to this country Sulmtaler breed, had a power outage and got a low hatch from those. I am going to send pictures of the 3 to who I bought them from to see their sex as they are now just a few weeks old. I also raise quail of the Georgia Giant variety.
I look forward to learning and sharing with other poultry lovers.
