Hi All- we just got 2 beautiful hens from a friend who is moving out of state and couldn't take them.. Never had them before- new to this all! I am very excited to learn all I can - very interested in becoming more self-sufficient. We got a Buff Brahma and an Ameraucana - both about 2 years old. We are quickly figuring out that their run needs to grow, and that our Boxer would LOVE to get to make a snack out of them. Our 2 little Chihuahuas are scared of them which is very funny to watch!
I am an amateur gardener- growing what I can in the desert, Mom to 4 teens - 16, 14, 13, 11. We have our own little homesteaders corner of heaven- 4 kids, 3 dogs, 2 chickens, 2 RES turtles, a king snake, a crested gecko, a rat, and a full fish tank!
