Hello! I appreciate this site and those who have posted many helpful things for a new chicken owner like me.

We acquired our first chickens in June (15 Buff Orpingtons and 1 Silver-laced Polish). We also have a deaf cocker spaniel (which came with our house) and a moody cat. Eventually we would like to add several other animals to our little farm- rabbits, goats, bees, a dairy cow, and possibly an alpaca. My husband and I have four children, and I am blessed to be able to homeschool them.

I can't wait to talk with others who enjoy chickens as much as I do!

I love bees, I want to set up a few hives. Wish I was allowed to keep goats, but my family is too mixed on getting them xD.

No, maybe I should clarify. The sellers asked us if we would take her because they were moving to an apartment. She was used to roaming around wherever she pleased and would not have been happy in a confined space. We agreed to keep her and allow them to visit her. This dog is old and deaf, but she still thinks she's a puppy!
