I have wanted chickens for a long time......but I live in the suburbs with a Homeowner Assoc! But, so what....I built myself a coop and ordered 8 chicks from MPC and now I have at 7 weeks 4 silkies, 1 brahma, 2 eastereggers, and one unknown. I am totally in love with them all but one at 7 weeks has started to crow (EE). I am bummed and I think I have 2 other roos but I am so new I can't really tell. When I am able I will post some pics for help. I can see how this gets to be an obsession. Now I am worried about my neighbors and if I get a complaint.....what to do with my beautiful little rooster? Oh well....thanks for this site.

from Michigan. I got 8 EE this Spring and I have 4 roos and 4 hens. The roos started getting red combs pretty early and then the red feathers started showing on their wings

I didn't make mine into real pets because I knew roos will go in the freezer. My roos are still pretty quite and not a lot of crowing at 12 weeks old but, I can tell they are still practicing. Good luck with neighbors and maybe Craigslist for new homes.

Riverside here.

What town do you live in, or what area? Maybe you can find a place local, like at a stables or someone zoned A-1 that you can keep chickens at their place.

from Ohio. So glad you joined. That's why I pay a little more just for pullets. You can list them in the auction here or place ads on store bulletin boards at your local stores. Good luck.
