Hi all,

I just joined up because my boyfriend and I are seriously considering getting chickens but have been unable to get any clear answers on the Cherry Hill, NJ codes. The history of codes i read going back to the 20s mostly only talk about dogs, cats, sheep, goats and swine limitations. NOTHING i can find about chickens. I called the police, no clue, and the clerk hasn't gotten back to me.

I'm really excited about this, I have a bit too many pets but it's part of who we are. We garden our on vegetables and chickens are the next choice!

Any tips or info is always appreciated.

Also, has anyone ever purchased their chickens from any of the livestock auctions? There is one in Tabernacle, NJ i've gone to for general supplies and ebay resellables but I just went to one with live animals and there were a LOT of chickens, all local type farmers but mix and match on quality.

Happy to join, and wish me luck!

! Pleased you joined us. Sure hope you get the affirmative on chickens. If you get no answer I'd take some drives through the back alleys of town - see if there are other chicken keepers and talk with them. Good luck to you!
