It said that I should introduce myself as a new member, so here I am. We have had hens, mostly ex battery, but have moved on to ducks. 19 currently plus 16 ducklings, soon I fear to be 15 as one is stargazing. We are going out to get brewers yeast very soon. Our only problem duck is Jumbo a Muscovy cross appleyard who had a sister Lulu who shared his 'language' - neither duck nor Muscovy noises, but sadly the fox had her. Since then he hasn't flown and gets bullied by the pure Muscovy male who we had to introduce as Jumbo is infertile. All of our other ducks are a random mix of runners, crosses, khaki Campbell's, cherry valleys and some balis and welsh harlequins

Hi and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. The duck forum will be your go-to place - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre - https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your country thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/655508/uk-member-please-say-hi/890

Hi welcome to BYC from Cumbria, UK! It's great to see some more UK members joining :)..... Sounds like a gorgeous flock! I also started out with chickens and have since moved onto ducks (which are so much funnier!) and I have Welsh Harlequins and Khaki Campbells (plus 36 more in the incubator!).

I had a stargazing Khaki Campbell duckling, last year, but luckily it pulled through after some Brewers Yeast, so I've got my fingers crossed for your little one :fl..

Pop into this thread for a chat and introduce yourself to the other UK members:

Good luck,

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some good starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
