(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I'm new as of this spring (March 2018-dog got to first batch due to my complacency) (May 2018-second batch all still alive, lesson learned)

1 leghorn, 1 Delaware blue, 3 barred rocks, 3 ?- was told they were araucana, but they don't look like it. maybe easter eggers or ameraucana. Was told yesterday they look like rhode island reds
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
have been Bing-ing the search engine and this website comes up a lot. After 5 months I thought I'd join.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Love to read (when I have time), I also enjoy gardening, hard work, relaxing on beach and hanging with family. Now add chickens
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Been married 20 years, got 4 kids, 1 dog-who loves running after squirrels. After the incident with the first batch of chick, she is never alone.
I homeschool the 2 youngest for now, we moved into a fixer upper, so a lot of our spare time has been on that.
