(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I'm brand new to them. Just had my coop and run built this weekend.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None as of right now. Opinions? Start with new chicks or no?
(3) What breeds do you have?
Looking at cornish x rocks, sex links or australorps. Opinions? Primarily for egg layers BUT would like them to have the ability to double as meat chickens.

Anything outside! Fishing, hunting, etc

Welcome to BYC! I am sure you will love chickens. whether you should get chicks depends on how much time you have. I have only gotten pullets, basically teenagers, and they are easy to care for and very cute! I'm sure there are other members who can tell you more. I'm a vegetarian, so I can't tell you about meat birds but here is a good link:
