Hi! I'm a recently retired educator who has been trying to educate herself on raising chickens! I should be getting 5 or 6 (laying) hens and 1 rooster next weekend! Yikes! The coop and run are almost finished. I've read a lot of information and watched many videos. I'm glad there are sites like this one to help newbies like me!

Thank you! I'm from south MS. I don't own any other animals. Both my neighbors have cats that amble over from time to time, though. I'm sorry but I don't know what kind of chickens they are! I'll find out soon, though. I'm getting them from my cousin and his wife who raise non-GMO fed animals. Check out their web site: https://naturesgourmetfarm.com/. The beef is delicious!
