Hello!
My name is Kathi and my husband Will and I live in Ocean County, NJ. We currently have 6 hens from RENT THE CHICKEN. This is our 3rd season renting chickens. After the first season my husband built a large permanent run and coop for our seasonal flocks complete with roof, dust bath and logs for them to roost on.
We live on a lagoon. During the summer we like to go out on the Barnegat Bay on our pontoon boat and have friends over for BBQs while we relax on the deck. In the winter we like to travel to warm climates. We love to snorkel and I've recently tried stand up paddle boarding.
We have 2 children who are both married and enjoying successful careers and twin grandsons who will be 9 at the end of July.
This seems like a great forum and I've already gotten help for a hen that went broody. A raised rabbit cage did the trick. She was back with the flock after 3 days and hopefully she'll be back to laying eggs soon!
