(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my chicks this past March, just as th epandemic hit!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4

(3) What breeds do you have?
2 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Rhode Island Blue and 1 Buff Sultan

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the sounds they make and having really fresh eggs!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like to garden and I am a watercolor painter and bird watcher.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a retired kindergarten teacher and my husband is a professor of istory and religious studies.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
Just found out. I read a reference to your website. My girls stopped laying syddenly and I am trying to figure out why

Chickens slow way down on laying in the fall taking cues from the shorter days as a time to recoup their nutrients from laying all year. 2nd year birds will molt every fall as well.
