Hello Back Yard Chickeners. Thanks for the opportunity to post.
1) I have been wanting to get chickens for a while and finally pulled the trigger about 6 months ago.
2) I purchased 5 straight run chicks and turned out with three hens and two roosters.
3) I am not sure what breeds I have. One rooster looks like a Barred Rock and one hen looks like a gold laced Wyandotte. I would like help identifying the other breeds.
4) the best part of backyard chickens is watching them grow and interact. Watching them free range is a treat.
5&6) My other hobbies include gardening, getting my fruit tree forest going, and taking care of our three small dogs.
7) I found BYC years ago when I first started researching backyard chickens. It's been a resource I turn to quite often.
Thanks for the opportunity to join. I look forward to interacting.
