Hi, my name is Charla and I got my first chickens in April of 2021. I purchased for chicks at the feed store and I’m holding steady at four hens. the breeds re Pepper - Maran, Pippa - Cochin, Susie - Speckled Sussex, Maggie - Easter Egger or Ameraucana (unsure).

These girls have been endlessly entertaining!

I’ve been creeping the site since I got the girls but finally thought I should join.

Thank you for all the warm welcomes! I have just LOVED having my girls much more that I could have expected. Reading discussions and articles has probably saved me hundreds of dollars in vet bills in just this one year. I am so grateful to all of you for your expertise and advice!

Hi Charla, welcome to BYC. I believe Pippa is actually a dark brahma.

Thank you. I’ll definitely look that up. As far as my chicken owning goes, it probably doesn’t matter but people ask all the time so it’d be good to have accurate information. Thanks again!
