Hey everyone! Just introducing myself here!
I own and operate a small backyard flock out of Temperance, MI. We got our first flock in the Spring of 2021 where we started with 22 hens and 2 ducks (pair). We started Wren’s Hens while I was pregnant with my daughter, Wren. We were new to the chicken game and built our own run off of a metal insulated shed we modified for our ladies. In December of 2021 our entire flock was slaughtered in 2 days by a mink (found out after second day). We decided to try again after that heartbreak, and predator proofed every crack and crevasse and poured concrete rat walls into hardware cloth. Now our new ladies are almost a year old, and we sell our eggs locally. We specialize in rainbow eggs and are now incubating for the first time this coming weekend. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies! I always check in the "What's New" section as well at the top of this page. This way I can read how I may have a similar question or help give some advice.
