Hi friends! Mama of 3 and homesteader in South Jersey.

Here is my intro post:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Not new, though new things come up all the time with chickens. We first started with them in 2020.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Started with 4 (in 2020), expanded to 26 (2021), downsized to 12 (2022), and then expanded again over the course of the last 6 months to 84!

(3) What breeds do you have?
Ameraucanas, Easter Eggers, RIRs, Cream Crested Legbars, White and Brown Leghorns, Starlight Green Eggers, Sapphire Gems, Silkies, a Mottle Houdan (our favorite), Blue and Splash Andalusians, Midnight Majesty Marans, Light and Dark Brahmas, a Speckled Sussex, Prairie Bluebell Eggers, Blue Cochins, a Golden Campine, and I think that's it lol.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching them (like watching a fish tank), learning their different personalities, and provided for our family and community farm fresh, quality eggs as well as quality chicks (in the near future).

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Caring for Horses (and riding at some point again), gardening, learning new ways to adapt our farm for my family, baking, walking in the woods near us, fishing (but actually catching), and more I'm sure. My favorite hobby of all time is enjoying a nice, hot cup of coffee, first thing in the morning, on my deck(before the babies wake up.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Our family lives on a small, 2-acre homestead that is small but mighty. We have grown our family over the past 3 years, and are finally enjoying the hard work it took to get to where we are today. Feel free to check us out on socials - Freshcoln Farms.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've known about BYC (a GOLD MINE / HOLY GRAIL) since I first got chickens in 2020! I decided to register so I can participate in the threads and forums mainly for genetics advice (when we're ready to pair flocks) and for medical advice (of course).
