Hello, my name is Laura and I am chick addict. I succumbed quickly and easily- I know you will all understand my addiction and I am grateful for the support from this group.
I have 14 chickens: 6 RIRs (not sure whether they are roos or hens yet), 4 Barred Rock hens, 4 Americauna hens + a feisty 11-year old Rat Terrier that is not quite sure what to make of those chicks Mom pays wayyyyy to much attention to. My chicks are all about 8 weeks old. I will post pictures of my flock soon, as well as the 'aviary' my wonderful husband built for my girls- it is 16' x 20' and surrounds our chicken coop to protect them from predators- he did a great job!
I enjoy working in my small organic veggie garden and orchard. My chickies get some very fresh stuff and they appear to be especially appreciative of freshly picked swiss chard!
I am very excited about my addiction and am looking forward to sharing adventures with you!
