New member intro

Hi! I've just now joined the forum.
I've kept a few chickens for five or six years, retired my older ladies and started a new batch this spring. I currently have a Buff Orpington, RIR, Delaware, Black Australorp, gold-laced Wyandotte, an Ameracauna, and a partridge rock. Four of them have started laying and I'm still waiting for the other three.

I live near Bellingham, WA, quite close to the Canadian border. Besides the chickens, I have a husband who built me a beautiful new coop, a cat, and three dogs. I train my dogs for competition obedience but also for tracking and hunt tests. As I train my dogs to retrieve birds, my chickens are consequently confined to a run

we have bird dogs too but have trained them that chicken is not on the menu.
