(1) i have been using backyard chickens for a few months now and am in love with it! ive had chickens since spring, and last couple months have built an incubator and hatched 11 of 15 eggs!! one egg was a double yolk and hatched one chick (and a yolk), and one chick has only one eye
(2) total chicken count is at 2 rooster, 4 hens, and 11 chicks
(3) Barred Rock, and rhode island reds are the breeds i have and a couple of the chicks are crosses
(4) i found out about backyard chickens while looking for more info about chickens
(5) i love being outside, i make things, i cure deer hides, and dry chicken feet, i knit hats, make dream catchers, and make horse hair bracelets
(6) i live in arkansas, and have a 6 month old son who loves watching the chickens, other then the chickens i have 3 dogs, and a pygmy goat, i sell insurance (life,auto,home).
i cant wait to make new friends and learn much much more about chickens
