I'm fairly new as well to BYC. Welcome to the clan of chicken caretakers.
I'm in Washington State and recently moved to the rurals in a small town called Duvall. We are in possession of a farm house on 10 acres with a barn built in the late 1930's. So we are renovating it little by little starting with the section for the chickens that is 230 sq. ft. What a job! We have an Orpington rooster and 6 pullets + 6 more chicks that are 5 weeks.
Needless to say it's been fun.
You are off to a good start. Can't wait to hear more.
