I’m new here! I have a little frizzle and today I noticed she was staying inside the coop and wouldn’t come out- I took a closer look and her left eye is swollen, her body feels hot! Did she get bit, stung? I don’t know what to do I took her out and put her in a crate by herself until I can figure out what is going on- any help would be appreciated

And I don’t know specifically what is wrong, but make sure she stays cool. I have had things like this happen to my chickens, and what I do is bring them inside where air conditioning is.

And also give the chicken cool probiotic water. And try to get her to eat some food.

Welcome to BYC. I would apply ophthalmic ointment to her eye. Good luck with her.

I would get some liquid children's Benadryl and give her 1/4 cc if she is a bantam or 1/2 cc if she is full size. Repeat after 24 hours if you see improvement.
Also apply terramycin ointment to the eye if you have that. If not, triple antibiotic ointment will due.

I tried putting her in the crate and she is hurting herself and getting so upset trying to get out of it. I let her go back in the coop (she seems comfortable there) and I do have a fan on her! I will try the Benadryl and ointment! I’m hoping she gets better quickly and that it’s not contagious? I saw online something about mycoplasma?
