Hi Everyone,
I'm looking forward to having a go to place for all my chicken raising questions! Here is a little bit about me.

1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We got our chickens in July of 2017. This is our first time raising chickens.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We started out with 2 Golden Laced Polish and 6 Black Austrolorps. Unfortunately, our dog killed one of our Polish about 2 weeks ago

(3) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I found out about Backyard Chickens while searching for info about raising chickens online.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to read, be outdoors, craft and spend time with my family.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married and we have two children ages 11 and 13. We have a dog and a cat along with the chickens. I work from home so it makes raising the chickens a little easier as I can keep an eye on them throughout the day.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss :(

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
