Welcome to Backyard Chickens. Some folks use different shades of lipstick to mark their hens exit area for eggs. Some will come off on the egg and you will know who laid what - if you keep track. Please toss the lipstick after marking the birds - :sick

So happy to have you here and to follow along as you discover who is laying! Isn't it fun getting those first eggs? The first time we raised chickens of our own, the first egg our one hen laid was literally out in the middle of the run in the dirt!

* can't wear lipstick, I smile too much, and it ends up on my teeth. Not a good look.
