Hello! I am a new BYC member from Ft. Worth, Texas! I'll go right ahead and tell you some things about me!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have owned chickens for about 4 years now. I got my first batch of chicks as a Christmas present.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 10 super sweet hens, but I'm hoping to add to my flock soon!!
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have a lot of different breeds, but I'm not going to mention them all here. Instead, I will go ahead and write a "Meet my Flock," post soon, just so I can add some more details and info about each individual hen!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love getting to step outside and getting to see my girls. They are all friendly, and I love getting to hang out with them. I also love the satisfaction of getting to collect farm fresh eggs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy horse riding, which I have done for a while now (nine years I believe). I also like reading, playing instruments, and spending time with my other pets.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Besides chickens, I have a couple of more animals. I have a horse, a donkey, two dogs, two cats, two cockatiels, and one leopard gecko.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have actually known about BYC for a while now, but I decided to go ahead and join! I would love to learn more about all aspects of raising chickens and connecting with a community of fellow chicken lovers!
