(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is our 1st year having chickens, however I grew up on a farm with lots of chickens. We got ours May 9th.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 22
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have a mix of egg layers. Orpington, Rhode Island Red, Brahma, Wyandotte,
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They're so fun to just watch and see them interacting and playing.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We also raise/breed ducks for the past 3 years and we have a rescued 2 year old pig. I also love to garden. Vegetables and herbs, roses and other flowers.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 1 (human) daughter lol, 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 guinea pigs on our little homestead.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
