1) New to chickens here - My 15 brown egg layer variety came from Meyer Hatchery in Ohio via USPS 3 weeks ago. I lost one on the 3rd day, but the rest are thriving.
(2) I think I have 5 breeds and have so far identified what I think are Welsummer and Barred Plymouth Rock.
(3) I thought I wanted a ready supply of good quality eggs, but I’ve quickly discovered what calming, friendly sweethearts my chicks are! Like the rest of our animals, they’re family now.
(4) We have a mule, 4 horses, and 2 dogs. I love gardening, walking, reading, and time with friends.
(5) I think I first found the FB group, then quickly joined here. I always love learning from online groups like this one.
My coop is newly built, but I’m already discovering some adjustments need to be made!
I have a lot to learn and hope to someday be able to share experience here with others. But first, I’ll be reading lots of posts and maybe asking a few questions. Thank you in advance!
