New member introduction!

I have had chickens for 30+ years.
* How many: We have 5 separate breed pens, approx 10 birds per pen. We raise a few purebreds and have crossed some for good production offspring. Our pullets start laying at 16 weeks and are winter hardy layers.
* Breeds: Some of what we have are including French black Maran, Rhode Island White, Golden Comets, Blue Copper Maran.
Planning to raise Barnvelder and Jubilee Orphingtons as well.
* Favorites aspects: Having fresh collected eggs. Breeding and hatching productive offspring that do as good or better then their parents. Having eggs for others to enjoy and watching chicks hatch and mature!
* Other hobbies: Raise pedigreed mini rex bunnies, AKC boxers, small goat herd (Boer cross with some Nubian), small cattle herd (SimAngus and British park), enjoy my miniature horses and just being outdoors in nature.
* Family: I have 3 boys, all who graduated school, were involved in 4h (as I was as well). We raised our own pigs for show and quality market for the freezer.
I am the rabbit and poultry leader for our 4h county.
BYC group: Anytime I search for chicken related things, this group usually has some topics that had been discussed that may help in my research.
Reason to join: I see many questions/answers that help me out. With my experiences, I've had answers that could help others and I love to educate and offer help where I can.
Welcome here 4h momma! I'm you neighbor from SW Nebraska!
Quite the intro you've learned a lot though the years. Thanks for being a helper to all the 4h kids through the years. Great looking calves, love the lil speckled guy. I'm calling him cookies and cream! Great photos.

Hello corner neighbor! 🙂
Well I followed the list of suggestions. It really could have been more, as our lives stay plenty busy, but it was getting lengthy. LOL
I love helping others learn and succeed, proper education where so many share things they hear without really knowing if it's true or legit. The reward in that makes my day, as it will help someone at some point.
My 3 boys had chores from the time they could get around, so if they use half of what they learned, they have that to relate too.
Thank you! Yes the calves dad's name is Oreo! I almost named him cookies and cream. He's a sweet gentle boy! His sire is registered Angus, his mom is a British Park.
Him growing up pics with parents. Then him when his first calves were born last year.

Nice looking Bull!
Chores.. that's such a great way to bring up kiddos. Those kids shine among the idiots that are out there now? I loved 4 h with my girls. We left the big city of Denver to move back here to small rural town to retire and man am I glad we did! Welcome
