Hello,
I am Mohammad, a new member in this website.
I have had chickens for almost 7 years since I was a child, but I got it from a shop and didn't know the breed. I later got newer chickens that had good breeds, although I didn't what they were at that time (One was buff Orpington and the other was barred Plymouth rock). They were later eaten by an animal that looks similar to a crocodile, except for one which hatched in my house.

I currently have a total of 4 chickens and a rooster.

One of the chickens is cornish white chicken, and two others are malay chickens (I think), and the last one is the one that survived before, and it is the one who hatched in my house. The rooster seems to be a crossbreed and I am not sure what exact breed is it from.

My favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens include feeling the connection with my animals, and the happiness I feel when I get an egg from my chickens. It's also the fun I get from watching small animals grow.

I also like programming and planting, and also cooking.

I recently graduated from school, so I have no occupation but I might join a university or college soon. I currently live in Malaysia, and originate from Syria. I have other pets like cats, and I am currently incubating duck eggs for the first time. I have tried getting a hedgehog pet before and it was fun, but I sold it because I can't manage so many animals at once.

I found about BYC because everytime I have a problem with my animals, I search about it on Google and always find the solutions. It's not been that long since I started strongly taking care of my chickens (and now duck eggs) so I think I found out about this website in the beginning of this year.

I hope we can all benefit each others in this community that all helps each others to raise our animals correctly.

I enjoyed your introduction! I really like that you mentioned feeling a connection with your animals and the happiness of getting eggs from your own chickens.

Best wishes with hatching your duck eggs, and welcome to BYC, Mohammad! Please let us know when your ducklings hatch :)
Thank you very much for your nice comment. Sadly, the ducklings seems dead. The reason is probably because of the long shipping which caused it to be malpositioned. No duck hatched and internal pipping didn't happen until now on day 29. I opened one of the eggs and the duckling seems to be dead.

I think I will buy a duckling that already hatched instead of these eggs

If you decide to buy, I think it would be better to get at least two ducklings. My ducks get along with my chickens, but they really prefer to hang out with each other. Plus, ducks are so much messier than chickens, so mine have separate housing.

Good luck with whatever you do!
I think I would like to get more than two especially after the ehgs died and I feel like I want a replacement.

The only breed I can easily get in my place is muscovy. I don't know how can I get other breeds in any way. The khaki Campbell eggs I got were shipped to me from an island in Malaysia.

I am also not sure how do I choose the best ducklings between all the available ducklings I might find.
