When my husband told me he had ordered 20 RIR chicks last July, I was stunned. I wondered what in the world we were going to do with 20 chickens in our tiny (HOA moderated subdivision) backyard! Now, almost a year later, I couldn't be happier! We fell in love with them as soon as we heard their tiny peeps coming from the back room of our postoffice. My husband discovered your website early on and BYC has been priceless with information. I hope to figure out how to post photos of our flock too. We love the photos and videos. In the evenings, after work, we spend most of our time in the yard with our flock. Most of them love us too. They sit on our shoulders or on our laps. Some like to be handled more than others. Some are identified by name. They have "treats" on their minds all the time! We have lost none to disease. Only lost one to a hawk. Out of our original 20 hens, two turned out to be roos. Last fall, after several threatening letters from the HOA, we moved the roos and most of the hens to our nearby property we plan to move to next year. They are very happy there & well protected. We've hatched a few chicks and became the proud owners of a pretty pair of Bantams. We are head-over-heels in love with these pets!

Sounds like you have your addiction well underway like most of us, lol!! just wanna say
