y first time chickens were very long ago. I became more interested in chicken when I was in college. I am not an expert but I would like to have more knowlege about poultry to help me raise my exotic (unknown) breed of Arabian chickens by learning about semi-feral, wild jungle fowl, and villiger chicken around the world. close origins or similar villeger breeds such as Egyptian Fayoumi, Ethiopian Nech, Chickens you may see in villiges in East Asian countries.....etc

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
more than ten birds.

I have 1 White Leghorn, 2 Cornish cross broilers, and the rest are Arabians.

Hi and :welcome

Your pets sound very cool. You must be the first person I've heard of who owns a shark. :p
And doing nothing at the beach is great...

Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have, and enjoy the site. :D

Hello from Western Colorado. We are newbies and lovin' it! We have 12 Buff Orpington pullets who are 11 weeks old. They are well socialized and are true lap chickens. They love attention and pets from us. They coo so pretty. And we have 9, 3 1/2 week old keets who we are working to socialize. They are crazy, wild, ADHD birds, true to their nature. They are very cute, but soon will go through a dramatic change in appearance. We got them to eat all the bugs in the garden. We will put them in with the chickens when they are bigger and hopefully by end of summer free range them all together. It has been a dream to have chickens for years now, and finally we did it. The chickens have a great house we built them but 10 of them choose to roost in the 3 windows, instead of the roosts. One roosts at the top of the ladder leading up to the roost and one roosts outside the house on a trashcan that holds their feed! It is all inside a predator proof area, so she is safe at night. We figure she is low on the pecking order and wonder what she will do when it gets colder. The pecking order thing is very interesting to watch! We really love our flock and learn more every day.
