Hello, I'm Blackberry18! I'm a big poultry enthusiast, am in Poultry Bowl (4-H), and show chickens in my Country Fair (also 4-H). I currently have a backyard flock consisting of a Black Sexlink, a Red Sexlink, five Barred Rocks, and six White Leghorns. They are the sweetest chickens ever, and are my pets, though this year I am going to try to raise meat-birds (Cornish Cross) and sell them at the fair.

Some breeds I really want would be Brahmas, Cochins, Rhode Island Reds (or New Hampshires), Delawares, and any "Columbian" variety of a breed.
 
Welcome. I have raised cornish cross and its a great experience. Just make sure to watch the feed intake and they will do great.

Sounds like you have a nice flock! I'll be raising some Cornish X birds for the first time this year, too.
 
Congrats! It's not going to be my first time raising them, but first time selling them at auction (I hope I can do it!).
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join to our flock. You have some excellent layers. Black Sex Links are my favorites. They are friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. You are going to get loads of eggs. :o) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
