Hi everyone, my name is Keirstan and my partner and I just purchased our first home together.. in the country finally! We live in Nova Scotia, Canada.
I have always wanted to have chickens for fresh eggs, so now that we have the space we are able to!! We are starting quite small.. I ordered 6 Brown laying chicks (day old) and they will be arriving July 14th! I cant wait to begin the process of raising them up! I know I will have tons of questions when the babies get here and even before that! Thanks everyone,

Welcome to BYC - I'm a Nova Scotian as well, and brand new at this. My chickens came last Tuesday, they are now 19 weeks old and should start laying soon. Someday when I get more experience, I want chicks too!

Oh wow another Nova Scotian ! Hello :) that's great, I can't wait to get my chicks and start learning :)
 
I have 4 anacona baby ducklings I am new to this want to learn all I can on taking care of them will be 2 weeks old Friday hope I can raise them.any advice would be greatly appreciated.
