new member & just got our first egg!

Hi!
I've been combing this site for the last few months and finally realized I never joined!

We have 6 chickens and one of our delightful dames laid her first egg on friday!
I had never even had a fresh egg before~ SO good!

OUR FLOCK:
We got 4 at 4 days old, they are now 22 weeks old.
Jolene- a cuckoo maran (she started laying friday!!! one egg a day so far!)
Emerica- an ameraucana (which we're starting to think is a welsummer.)
Peeps & Hillary- light brahmas

We added 2 more a couple of months ago, they are now about 20 weeks old.
Natasha- a russian orloff
Lacey- a blue laced red wyandotte

HUGE! learning experience, went to "just look" and came home with baby chicks, made a brooder out of an old dog crate, had them inside a little longer than we'd planned while we finished up the coop. But they're loving it!
They are so entertaining to watch. better than any reality show on TV!

This site is so useful and we've used it in every single stage of our new chicken madness hobby!
