How large is it in ftxft?

80’ long, still deciding on width, maybe 10’? Never noticed a hawk until I started working on the coop- wondering if keeping the run narrow is safer.

Cover the top to keep birds of prey out. Even strapping down tarp if you can’t get a solid roof on. It will also help keep the run dry (at least somewhat) and provide shade.

Welcome. I agree to cover the top. If you cannot hard top the entire run, you can also get professional hawk netting.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

Your run is plenty for six chickens, but if you have the chance to make it bigger, it might be a good idea. Then if/when you add more chickens, you won't risk overcrowding. I mention this as there is nobody here that will say their coop or run is too big as if there's room, we'll fill it with chickens.
