So sorry for your loss. I recently had something get into one of my, what I thought was a secure pen. It got past an electric wire that was out further than the rest of the wires and plowed through the wire on the top part of a gate and all birds are missing with no trace. I think either coyote or fox. I did notice some tracks out there this morning when I went out to check my cameras and birds. A camera was set off but unfortunately it was very foggy out so I couldn't see what set off the camera. I have seen both a fox and coyote around. Good luck...
it was probably a coyote or fox they don’t eat them on site they take them and run and then come back if it was a raccoon he would have Made a mess same with same with a larger bird trust me I just got one of my bantams head removed by a owls and it just left the head there and tried to eat as much as it could through the cage I have pictures I’ll be posting soon just have to make sure it’s ok on this site I don’t want to be gory
