Hello,
I am “Vita1910”. I live in the suburbs of north west London with my husband of 40 years, my 5 month old Dalmatian puppy (our third Dalmatian) and my Pekin bantam hens.
When I was a child I had bantams and I had completely forgotten about them until last summer when we looked after our neighbour’s bantams while they were away for a month. I fell in love with them!
My 64th birthday present last August was an Omlet GoUpEglu and I was set for life with hens again.
Unfortunately 2 of the 3 chicks we got in September 2024 suffered from health problems and died and now I am down to just one point of lay hen.
I will have 3 new point of lay Pekins from 28th February from a different breeder who I trust to take more care with breeding healthy hens. Now I’m busy preparing how to integrate them with my remaining hen, and thinking through the challenges of keeping them all safe from the neighbourhood foxes.
