New Member - Longtime Chicken Keeper!

While looking for new tips to protect my coop- Came across BYC-WOW! Don't have any friends to "talk chicken"with so I'm looking forward to sitting at my computor & living life!

I'm Mouser from Wynantskill, NY (near Albany) I've lived with chickens 1/2 my life - inside the house & out. Just started a new flock of 21 White Leghorns after coming from work 2 days ago to find my yard covered with feathers. It seems the ply-wood roof on my chain-link run swelled seperating the posts attached that hold the latched door allowing the killer to get in and......if only I had secured the door stronger my companions would still be with me. Looking forward to meeting new friends & "talking Chicken" My Family-2 sons (16 &13 yrs.) Gave up horses & dairy goats to keep the kids -3 Dogs & 4 puppies (only 1 is a keeper) 1 Guard cat, 2 Snakes & our newest members 21 white fluffy chicks!
