New Member looking breeding fun crosses

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow Cute chick!!

I breed silkies and last fall bought some show-quality hatching eggs and hatched one grey moorhead silkie out of the batch. So, since there was no chance of getting her a rooster, I'm trying to breed her with a white to see what we get. Those sure seem to be rare!

I've been trying to breed lavenders but I only have one lavender hen and she refuses my roosters and hides her eggs😂. So I'm planning on buying a second lavender hen. Cause I have two lavender roosters that are the sweetest boys and I want them to father babies.

Lavenders, while pretty, just seemed like too much work to me to keep pure and constant breeding back to this or that. I have enough trouble trying to get a dominant white from my paints. 😊 I've got some hatching and see a white one in there. I think I'm going to DNA test one for the first time. Easier than waiting for them to grow up and incubate some eggs to find out.

I was kinda gifted a 18 bird flock and I'm just learning about chicken genetics and I admit I'm so confused. I love them but I don't know what I'm doing at all. 🤣 Do you have any pictures?
