New Member Looking To Learn More About Chickens

Hello. I currently have 5 chickens and a rooster. It started several years ago with 2 chicks my kid brought home from school. It turned out Chubby was a rooster. Eventually we added more chickens to give poor Stardust (the chicken) a break, if you know what I mean. Now we take in chickens that other people don't want for various reasons (not laying anymore, aggressive, etc) and they are our pets. It's nice to get eggs if they lay them but it's not a prerequisite to living here. My spoiled chickens are not required to earn their keep
