New member/New to chickens - VA

Hi, I'm George. My family got our first 4 chicks a few weeks ago from Mt. Healthy Hatcheries and lost 3 within a day. Have since received 16 more from McMurray Hatchery (on June 18th) and still have 15! We started letting our 1 survivor from the first batch outside for a bit yesterday and are loving watching her!

I think the oldest is a buff orpington. The 15 chicks are a mix of Cochins (black, partridge, white) and Langshans (black, white).

I'm looking forward to watching my kids (5 and 2) interact with the chickens. Of course excited about eggs in a few months too!

It was great to stumble on this community for some much needed support and information! Thank you all.
