New member, new to chickens!

As my username suggests, I'm joining you from the UK. I'm getting three hens next week hopefully, so wanted to get some advice from an active and knowledgeable forum, and this place seems to fit the bill! Looking forward to chatting and gaining some chickeney knowledge!

Thanks @alexa009 for the welcome! A farm local to me sells point-of-lay Warrens (hybrids) and a couple of acquaintances who keep chickens have both advised me to buy from there. Hope to share some pics of my girls next week when they're safely installed in their new home!

Hybrids are notable for their high egg production. I have one who is a sweet heart!

They'll be pets first and foremost, but the eggs will be a nice bonus! I have three young kids who are really looking forward to being able to collect eggs from their own hens.
