We're about to close on the purchase of a home in Parkdale, OR that has a couple of older chicken residents, which we'll be adopting. I've joined in order to learn about living with and caring for chickens so that I can be the best chicken dad I can be.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes / will be adopting a couple of older hens later this week.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Zero, will have 2 by the end of the week.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Unknown
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Looking forward to the company of birds and eating their eggs, possibly eating them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, snowboarding, xc skiing, canoeing, camping, biking, being a Dad, etc...
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Family of 5 (two kids flew the coop, one left at home), live with a border collie, develop wind farms for money.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
