New member raising quail.

I’m raising coturnix quail. I hatched out 7 eggs. Got 1 hen. Clearly not an ok ratio. Bought 16 more chicks. Two disappeared one night. Best guess is a snake found just the right spot to get in. No issues after that. Still ended up with too many males and had to cull some.

Right now I have 10 hens and 4 roos. I know that ratio is “wrong”. However everyone seems happy. I check on them at least once a day. They have AMPLE space which I believe contributes to my current ratio working. I’ll be trying to add about 6 more hens or so before the end of the year.
