Hello all,
Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I've been lurking about BYC for a while now, and I've taken the plunge.
I decided that it would be a good experience for my 7 yr old daughter to be responsible for something, and to that end, we're hatching chickens.
I cobbled together an incubator, procured some fertilized eggs and they're cooking right now (March 31 hatch day). We'll candle the eggs for the first time tomorrow and see how we're doing.
After they hatch, we'll make a brooder box until they're old enough to go outside. While they grow, my daughter will help me build the coop (an ark). The Chickens will free range.
Anyhow, that's what's up here.
