Hello, I'm new to the site, although I have referenced the forums for information in the past. I live in Florida and raise Catahoula's, but recently the Saipan Jungle Fowl caught my eye. I have ordered 20 from Cackle and wanted to document the entire process for those interested. I see bits of info here and there on the forums, but nothing from the order process, to maturity. They are due to arrive 8/5/2015 and I will post arrival pics, and daily pics up to day 30, after that I will post weekly pics. I will be including the food used, brooder box size and type, bedding, and heat temps. I'm not interested in where they originated from, nor of the purity as I have noticed several arguments on this, I am aware that mine are most likely mixed, but I'm simply sharing my process with those interested in such a pretty breed.

Some say they require certain diets, habitats, and limited groups. I will be trying 3 separate diets, as well as habitats, and groups of 5, 2, and 8. I aim to find the best answer to these questions by trying the 3 most debatable scenarios.

This isn't a prove you wrong experiment, its " The information I was looking for and couldn't get a clear answer on" process.

Hope those interested in this breed find something handy or informative through this process.

Good idea. It would be best to start your own thread to document the efforts and results for this. This is the New Members introduction thread. I would imagine you could start your journal in the Game bird section. Or ask a moderator to assist you.
