Hi ..... New member here although I have been surfing through the site for awhile now glomming onto any information that I found important to me or to the members of my poultry on facebook. My sister and I have been raising chickens for eggs and meat for a number of years now but this is the first year we are raising meat birds from our own birds and not ordering chicks. We are trying our hand at incubating. We have a mixed flock of mixed breeds. Our larger breeds are a mix of Bielfelder, Malines, mistral Gris,New Hampshires and Sussex, we have a Hoodan roo, and 3 japanese type banty hens. We also raise Ridley Bronze turkeys.

Hi and a warm welcome to BYC - glad that you have decided to join us. Good luck with the incubation - sounds like you will have one heck of a busy time ahead of you! It also seems that the dreaded chicken maths has not overlooked you or your sister either

Welcome to BYC! Glad you joined the flock! With meat birds, high protein, cracked corn can get them to pack on the pounds faster too. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your hatches.
