Greetings to all. I'm new to this board, and entirely new to chickens as well. I'm in northern NJ...Morris County. I'm a dad of three young sons...so i bought three female Red Sexlink chicks today (one for each son to "take care of"...although it always ends up in my hands). Have brooder all set, looking at coops for outside soon. I look forward to communicating with others here, learning and sharing. thanks,

I know the feeling but I still have my kids and gran-kids take care of something or they don't get to eat just the way I was brought up and it helps teach them responsibility of some sort and if nothing they get e rest from the T.V. or internet games ....
 
Welcome to BYC, Dev! You made a good choice in hens. Red Sex Links are egg laying machines. Good luck with your flock and your three sons.
 
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I got my three red sexlinks from a 4H fair in Morris county nj. They are already showing distinct personality and we know them by bahavior as well as looks. They also seem to know us as well!
