Howdy everyone!
I've been lurking for about a month and finally registered tonight. I really
love the website and everyone seems to be very helpful.
I am currently foraging for all the componets to build my first 'bator.
My goal is to try and use "pre-used" building materials. I know I
will have to buy items like a hygrometer (already ordered) and
my thermometer with probe (and water wiggler =P ) but everything
else I want to re-use existing materials.
I have a common sized plastic cooler that was given to me by a co-worker.
I salvaged a large piece of tempered glass from a old printer/scanner we were scrapping at work. My co-worker had found this printer on the side of the road two years ago, after a little TLC we used it until recently it finally gave up the ghost.
I was given a light kit from another guy I work with.
Currently I am making out a list of items I need the wife to track
down tomorrow. She has already found a local man that is willing to sell
us fertilized eggs.
I have a fairly large front yard and plan on having one or maybe two
chicken tractors going as well as a permanent coop.
Im sure I will have many questions in the future but for now I need
to go into sponge mode and read as many threads as I can to soak
up information and knowledge.
Thanks for having such a great place for people to share their experience!
Sincerely, Tim in TN aka USMC_LB
