Hello, new to owning chickens and to BYC. got a question. I have a hen and 3 peeps. Slikies. today we moved them from a small pen to a larger pen with a covered house in the back and fenced in the front. she is on the ground tonight with the chicks and not in the covered house. should I just leave her there? the cage and run is secure , no predators can get in. thanks

Greetings from Kansas and :welcome! Pleased you joined our community! If it was me I would move her into the coop - chicks, too. You don't want to start the habit of them not sleeping in the coop. After a couple nights they will recognize the coop as home and start using it. Also, as a newbie to chickens you might spend some reading the articles in the Learning Center here https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
It's packed with really great information. Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC! :)

Hi and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us. I do precisely as @redsoxs advised - it seems to do the trick. They just need to know where their new "home" is and then they will be fine.

Best wishes
